VCNZ Board Meeting 9 December 2020
VCNZ Zoom Meeting - 4pm Wednesday 9th December 2020
Agenda:
Finalising teams for Div1 (six teams confirmed) and Div2 (four teams)
Looks like Div 1 all 6 MA’s
Div 2, Cant/Otago combined, Wgtn, ND, Auck/CD combined. Certainly enough players for four teams with potential for players to be loaned if required.
Dispensation for Over 60s Div 1.
After much discussion it was agreed that if there is dispensation it should only be for one player aged 59 in 2021 and apply to all teams if they require it. Coordinators to confirm and identify if they have an under age player.
Costs for players and partners for Christchurch
– Phil has confirmed Div 1 team entry is $3225 per team and Div 2 $2100.00per team. $60 for partners attending the dinner.
For players this covers, meet and greet, wickets, balls, umpires, lunches and final dinner. (lunches for partners included in player payments).
Use of Craigs IP funds for 2020
– Agreed to split $4k Over 50s, $4k Over 60s and $2k Over 70s. To be used for nationals and NvS matches.
National Over 60s tournament 2022/23
– Accepted CD as host for the 2022 and 2023 tournaments
Agreement to use Xero for our accounting. Moved by Peter and seconded by Rod and agreed. Payment to come from general funds.
Update on Australian Over 60s tournament and Over 70s.
Tournaments all go at same venues. We have nominated three teams for O60s in Queensland and two O70s in Launceston.
General
Jim gave an update on the 4 team O50s tournament in Auckland early January and the 6 Major Association tournament in Petone in February. There was a discussion about future tournaments and whether the top tournament becomes a 6 Major Association event. Time will be on our side to determine future formats.
Potential North v South matches for O60s and O70s.
It has been suggested that we have an annual N v S match for O60s and O70s. This will be discussed again in January/February but not likely to happen again this season. Could happen after future Nationals and prior to the test against visiting Aussie sides? Or when we don’t travel to Aussie.
Team lists for February Nationals for O60s for both Div1 and Div 2 needed by Christmas with payment for all players and partners by 12th January 2021.
