Wellington Teams for Sixth National Provincial Over 60’s Cricket Tournament
Sunday 7 February – Thursday 11 February 2020
Hagley Park, Christchurch
There are two Divisions of Over 60s players, with Wellington entering teams in both Div 1 and Div 2.
The Div 1 side will play our nearest Neighbour, CD, in Marton on Sunday 24th Jan, 11.00 am start. Sunday 31st Jan is a Reserve Day for this fixture. This is an official match as part of the tournament.
As a result, the tournament structure in Christchurch will see both divisions playing 4 games over 5 days (Sunday, Monday, Wednesday and Thursday) and conclude with the traditional Tournament formal dinner on the evening of Thursday 11th Feb.
Tuesday is a Rest Day/Reserve Day. However, if weather intervenes on the first 2 days of the Tournament, then play will be required on the Tuesday.
Games will be played under the Veterans Cricket rules and will be 40 overs per innings.
We will have a Squad dinner on the Monday night, scheduled to be in the Function Room at the Bealey Ale House, 247 Bealey Ave, from 6.00pm.
Eligibility:
Players qualify as Over 60 if they are 60 or will be turning 60 in the 2021 calendar year ie born on or before 31 Dec 1961.
Registration and costs:
Costs are as below -
The payment for players covers the opening meet and greet function (cash bar operating); all match costs including wickets, cricket balls, scorebooks and umpires; lunches for players and partners and the closing dinner (cash bar operating). It also includes a small sum to provide after match drinks. Accommodation and squad dinner are not included in these costs.

We will make one Registration payment to the Tournament organisers in mid-January.
Accommodation:
Accommodation has been secured at 247 Bealey and All Stars Inn where the squad stayed last year. A big thanks to Paul Donnellan who has co-ordinated these arrangements and arranged a deposit to secure the bookings. Please settle your own accommodation costs as you check in or upon departure, directly with Reception.

Communication re Trainings and pre -tournament matches:
A Whats App group has been set up to enable easy communication on trainings, keep an eye out for updates as they occur.
A small group are undertaking fitness training on Mondays and Wednesdays from 5.30 to 6.30 pm. Thank you to Kevin Goldsbury and Ignite Sport for organising and providing equipment for these sessions.
All are welcome.
The next session on Wednesday 6 Jan 2021, will involve a walk/run up the Te Whiti Riser.
Meet in the middle car park at Te Whiti Park, Whites Line East, Lower Hutt from 5.20pm. This activity will take between 90 and 105 minutes and offers spectacular views of Wellington Harbour and the Hutt Valley from the top of Lower Hutt’s Eastern Hills.
Net trainings will be organized at Hutt Rec for Thursday 7th, Tuesday 12th, Thursday 14th and Thursday 21st Jan from 5.00pm.
